people often put salt or pepper on their salads or italian food, and fresh ground pepper is a required asking at my restaurant with all salads…

People already know if they are going to put pepper on their salads/food, and fresh ground pepper is the best!

The flavor of fresh ground pepper is superior to pre-ground pepper. The vast majority of people know i f they want to have pepper added to their salad or dish before being asked. If you need to taste your dish prior to deciding, then ask the server to go around the table and come back to you. If the server asks someone else first, go ahead and be proactive, taste your dish so you can answer when asked.

Well they ask because what if you don’t like pepper? It would seem rude if they came up at random and grounded pepper on something that didn’t need it.

Freshly ground pepper in front of you assures the customer it’s not something that came out of the container that has been sitting in the storeroom for months.

And yes, most people know ahead of time whether they want pepper added to their dish.

Why are you so upset over a small detail anyway? The server is trying to make sure that all your needs are met before you have to ask them. Most people already know if they’d like it on their entree/salad beforehand, I’m sorry you don’t.

Fresh pepper is MUCH better than the ground stuff that sits on the the shelf for months. It is GREAT on salads and in soups. It is all I use at home.

because its some kind of special addition that resturants pride. The employees are trained to ask
